That's a nice visualization. A book you might find interesting is "When God Was A Woman". It's an interesting anthropological look at how gods changed over time from agricultural earth-mother goddesses to angry patriarchs. A lot of the time it happened like in Russia. The Czar Vladimir the Baptizer decided that he'd better have a national religion, so he did some research on Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Since Christianity allowed both drinking and pork, he settled on that one. Vladimir the Baptizer then proceeded to convert the Russians from their polytheistic nature-worshiping ways to Christianity. Violently.
The 17 Bottles Of project began with Urs and Sig and a bunch of other people in 1999. Unfortunately, the original, in a blue spiral notebook, has vanished. It was a fun project, though, so we're starting over. Hopefully this one will be a bit harder to misplace.
2011 UPDATE: Word on the streets is that the J.Mo. has located the notebook and has it in her possession. We'd love to see it some day...
